Another busy week is coming to an end and there have been many developments in the NFT universe. From Polygon’s collaborations with top brands to unique new collections, here are the top NFT news stories of the week.
Polygon for permanent embossing NFT
The NFT Cent Creation platform will integrate Polygon with the Valuables platform to provide sustainable coin solutions. The company already uses the Polygon blockchain to produce NFT parts while reducing its environmental impact by 99%.
Currently, NFT transactions are processed using the consensus-based Proof of Work (PoW) mechanism, which requires huge computer resources to execute each transaction. However, Polygon is changing that by deploying a proof-of-stake (POS) sidechain plasma called Matic POS, which offers higher speeds and lower transaction costs.
Nominee(s) pitching NFT for 2021 Oscar nominees
Hollywood’s biggest awards ceremony, the 2021 Oscars, is not far away. To celebrate this milestone, Nomine(eth) is partnering with renowned artists such as Jack Butcher, Daniel Popper, Osinachi, Lirona and celebrity chef Rocco DiSpirito to host exclusive NFTs in the five main price categories.
The Rarible auction also includes a unique tribute to Chadwick Bozeman. All proceeds from this tribute will be donated to the Colon Cancer Foundation. In addition, each candidate’s name will be signed in the description of the NFT at the time of characterization to signify their success at the 93rd NFT. The Oscar ceremony will be permanent.
Blockchain investment firm Hasheed invests in NMTbank.ai
Hashed, a leading blockchain-focused venture capital fund, led a seed round for Contxts.io, the company behind NFTbank.ai, the NFT portfolio management platform. Along with other leading venture capital firms, namely Digital Currency Group and 1kx, Hashed’s investment brought the total funding cap to $1.4 million.
NFTBbank.ai integrates with many of the leading NMT marketplaces in the blockchain segment and provides in-depth asset management tools. The platform also supports NFTs on Ethereum and Polygon networks, allowing users to access multiple NFTs simultaneously.
Cryptopoops launches the world’s worst NFT
Most OG memes have already found their way into the NMT ecosystem. To follow this trend, Cryptopoops has officially launched NFT poop emoji in all shapes and sizes. Each Kryptopop is unique and carefully designed from over 50 features and millions of combinations.
A total of 6006 cryptopops can be generated programmatically. Ethereum’s smart contract assigns unique properties and history to each cryptocurrency when it is struck on the blockchain. Features are stored in the ERC721 token itself, and owners also receive a 1080p image that is stored and linked to IPFS for longevity.
With a sustainable footprint, embraced by Hollywood and invested in by a leading winemaker, has NFT finally gone mainstream? Tell us what you think in the comments below.
