First International Boutique Hotel Group To Accept Cryptocurrency

A new hotel chain is poised to become the first hotel chain in the world to accept cryptocurrency. With the world’s largest hotel chain Marriott International having already launched its own cryptocurrency called “Marriott Rewards”, the new hotel chain aims to become the first in the world to accept cryptocurrency payments for payment of services and products. The chain, called “S. Kidman & Co” is a boutique hotel chain based in Australia that is aiming to become the first hotel chain in the world to accept cryptocurrency.

The first boutique hotel in the world to accept cryptocurrency is set to open in London on February 23. The ‘luxury’ hotel, called the Park Lane Hotel, will be offering cryptocurrency payments on all of its rooms, with guests able to use bitcoin, ethereum, litecoin, Dogecoin, bitcoin cash, dash, and ripple. Hotel owner, Darren Barnett, said of the move, “I am really excited about the programme, not just for us but because of the potential it has to change the way people pay for things in the future.”

With the cryptocurrency hype in full swing, the world of hotels is looking to jump on the bandwagon. On Wednesday, the Swiss-based First Hotel Group (also known as “First Hotel”) announced it’s the first international boutique hotel group to accept cryptocurrency payments. The company’s new “Coin Hotel” in Geneva already accepts bitcoin and litecoin payments and will soon add Ethereum and Ripple.

Pavilions Hotels & Resorts, a luxury hotel company, is the first worldwide boutique hotel group to accept cryptocurrency. From July 7, bitcoin payments will be accepted for direct bookings via each hotel’s reservation center.

Furthermore, cryptocurrencies like Bitcoin (BTC) have taken a step closer to popular acceptance this month. When Pavilions Hotels & Resorts became the first worldwide boutique hotel group to accept cryptocurrency for hotel reservations from a variety of nations.

The hotel company will now accept Bitcoin (BTC), Ethereum (ETH), and other 40 cryptocurrencies as payment methods. Through direct reservations, The Pavilions Hotels & Resorts has partnered with Coindirect, a worldwide crypto-payment platform.

Jesse Hemson-Struthers, the CEO and co-founder of Coindirect, said,

“We take pleasure in providing our partners with a platform that allows them to make fast safe payments with over 40 cryptocurrencies.”

“This was a key element for The Pavilions Hotels and Resorts to guarantee that the end-to-end payment process is secure, flexible, and simple for guests when booking their next adventure at any of The Pavilions Hotels and Resorts across the world,” she said.

As a result, consumers will be able to pay in the cryptocurrency of their choosing. The Pavilions Residences are also available for purchase in the group’s Phuket and Niseko resorts, and it accepts cryptocurrency for property transactions.

In addition, The Pavilions Hotels and Resorts company made another significant news, extending its worldwide portfolio to 14 sites. The Pavilions Anana Krabi and The Pavilions El Nido, Palawan Island, were recently added to the portfolio, joining properties in Phuket, Bali, the Himalayas, Mongolia, and Niseko in Asia, as well as Amsterdam, Madrid, Lisbon, and Rome in Europe.
